When water jet cutting glass products, the glass edge will be broken and uneven after cutting by some equipment. In fact, the well-set water jet will not have such problems. If there are problems, the following aspects of the water jet should be investigated as soon as possible:
1. The pressure of water jet is too high
The greater the water jet cutting pressure, the higher the cutting efficiency, but the stronger the impact, especially for glass cutting, the backflow impact of water will make the glass vibrate, which is easy to cause uneven edges. Adjust the pressure of water jet properly to make the water jet just cut the glass, and try to fix the glass from shock.
2. The diameter of sand pipe and nozzle is too large
The sand pipe and gem nozzle should be replaced in time after being worn, because the sand pipe and nozzle are vulnerable parts, and they can not be concentrated when a certain water column is consumed, which will impact the glass nearby and eventually cause the glass edge to break.
3. Select sand with good quality
In water cutting, the quality of water knife sand is directly proportional to the cutting effect. High quality water knife sand has high quality, average size and relatively small size, while poor quality water knife sand is often mixed with sand particles of different sizes and low quality. Once used, the cutting force of water knife will no longer be uniform, and the cutting edge will no longer be smooth.
4. Cutting height problem
If there is a certain distance between the water knife and the glass cutting head, there will be a sharp effect. The distance between the sand pipe and the glass should be well controlled when the water knife cuts the glass. Generally, the distance between the sand pipe and the glass is 2cm.
In addition to the above aspects, we also need to check whether the pressure of the water jet is too low, whether the sand supply system is in normal supply, and whether the sand pipe is in good condition. We need to check and set more, adjust and record the optimal value, so as to better avoid the edge fragmentation in the glass cutting process.
