How to maintain the water jet cutter:

If the sanding cutter head and conveyor system are not properly maintained, the water cutting machine manufacturer may not be able to process the precision workpiece even if the X-Y table is within the tolerance range and the pump operates normally. The cutting machine can keep good working condition through three simple steps.

Step one:

Observe the water flow of the jewel nozzle. Turn on the water flow at low pressure for observation. The flow should be symmetrical and its width depends on the type of nozzle used. The flow rate of ruby and sapphire nozzles is slightly wider, while that of diamond nozzle is narrower and more consistent. If the flow begins to widen, the nozzle is damaged and should be replaced immediately. A damaged nozzle (or misplaced pipe) may cause internal damage to the cutter head.

Step 2:

Regularly check the cutting head for signs of wear or damage (usually due to accidental contact with parts or fixtures). For example, accidental contact of the sand pipe with the fixture can damage the nozzle nut and internal components that keep the mixing pipe aligned.

Step 3:

Regularly check and replace the vulnerable parts of sand conveying system, such as pipes and fittings. Make sure that no part of the sand conveying system below the bottom of the micro hopper is exposed to air. To perform this check, disconnect the sand delivery line from the connector at the bottom of the micro hopper, manually open the nozzle and connect the thumb to one end of the sand delivery line. You will feel that there is enough (but not too much) vacuum that can cause the tip of your thumb to droop. Insufficient vacuum may indicate that the inlet of the cutting head is blocked, or there are cracks in the sand conveying pipeline, which must be solved to make the system more efficient.

Check the system and keep it in good working condition to make the water jet cutting operation more effective and extend the service life of its components.
